#30: Horses

The sun is shining and London really comes to life .............. thank God for the summer.

For my 30th post I decided to put up something different ................. horses. A few years back on one of my walks in the british countryside I came across some horses grazing in the fields. I watched them for a few minutes and they seemed so still like death itself. They seemed extremely patient and were in no hurry to go anyway fast, they also basically ignored me as I took some photographs, if only human beings could be that patient. I think I would like to do some more horse portraits in the future, their quiet countenance is intriguing.

#29: Infra-red portraits

I was assisting my buddy Jide Alakija on thursday on a fashion shoot and thought of trying out my infra-red camera. Hoping to try some more infra-red stuff during the summer.

#28: Olawunmi

While on a shoot a few weeks ago for Elevated minds, I took some snaps of beautiful Olawunmi. She has that youth and beauty that seems untainted by the world around her.

#27: A Burlesque encounter

Last week friday I decided to venture into the world of burlesque ................. something I never thought I would be doing, as 1. I didn't really care for going to a dingy venue, watch women take of their clothes and tease men and 2. I didn't want to seem like some perv.

Now I am sure you are thinking, what the hell was I doing at a burlesque show in central London, well just for your information I was dragged by my hair kicking and screaming, by my awesome friend photographer Enimien http://etomi.shutterchance.com/, what can I say, she's a super strong badass.

Anyway safe to say I had some preconceived ideas about burlesque that were proved wrong. For one, the performers were not model types with the 'perfect' body that society has impressed upon on us, these were real women with real bodies. The performances were fun and sensual and not vulgar. Some acts were actually a work of art (I know right) mixed with showmanship ............ or show-womanship, if that's a word.

From my experience and observation burlesque seems to be about female empowerment and a celebration of the female body (which I believe is one of Gods awesome creations). This explains the high number of women present at the show in comparison to men and the encouragement factor in the crowd.

Now I can promise you if the roles were reversed and men were doing burlesque, you wouldn't have a lot of men encouraging in the crowd except they were gay (well I think anyway). Hmmmmm............... isn't that interesting, women are a completely different species.

#25: LFW 2011

Last week was London fashion week and the crazy Fashionistas came out to play. The kind of stuff some people call fashion is bewildering, I guess it's their way of expression .................... yeap expression of craziness and delusion.
Anyho I was asked by the guys at Blow PR to get some images from a few fashion shows. I enjoy going to these shows and people watching ................. the fashion world is a very interesting place filled with beautiful people, fancy clothes, over the top dress senses, larger than life and over the top characters and some people that need a healthy dose of reality. "Oh so nice to see you darling" kiss kiss.
I covered Fashions Finest which is run by Sola Oyebade, Julian J Smith (which was photographed by my pal at Sherie, if you are into fashion check out her blog at http://prettygarbe.tumblr.com/ ........... thanks for helping out buddy) and Pierre Garoudi.
I so want to photograph Pierre Garoudis collection, its very conceptual and Avant Garde.
